Programme overview

Our fully accredited (CFI, OfQual AO), Level 7 Master Practitioner Diploma is the highest level of training and education available in sports nutrition, equivalent to a Masters Degree.

 

The Master programme includes modules 1 – 4 of our internationally recognised, accredited, Level 7 Diploma in Sports Nutrition, plus two additional modules, offering students the opportunity to develop evidence-based practice skills in ‘asking’, ‘acquiring’, and ‘appraising’ evidence.

 

Students will be presented with a final case based project, where they will be conduct an in-depth, longitudinal analysis and intervention plan of a real-world case subject that aims to support health and performance.

Module 5: Research Methods in Sports Nutrition
This module aims to have students formulate research questions using the PICO framework, acquire relevant scientific evidence and grey literature, and critically appraise these various forms of evidence in the context of their validity and practical relevance. Moreover, students will develop skills in data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing. By the end of this module, students will have produced a short-form research review using contemporary critical appraisal frameworks, a long-form literature review and research proposal for their Module 6 case study project.
Module 6: Case based project
The aim of this module is for the student to conduct an in-depth, longitudinal analysis and intervention plan of a real-world case subject that aims to support their health and performance. Students should demonstrate a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of sports nutrition that corresponds to some of the core learning outcomes covered in the previous five modules. Students should demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice by planning, implementing, and reflecting on their intervention plan.

Eligibility

To be an eligible candidate for the Master programme, students must have completed the accredited IOPN Diploma in Sports Nutrition*.

 

*Please note, the Master programme will be available to graduates of the IOPN Diploma November 2022 cohort onwards.
