Accreditation and Professional Recognition

The IOPN Diploma is proud to have received the following accreditation and professional recognitions.

Accreditation

Postgraduate programmes, such as the IOPN Diploma in Sports Nutrition, only receive accreditation when they are officially verified by an external awarding organisation. The verification process is involves a detailed assessment of the programme structure and content by a specialist board of experts organised by the external awarding body or institution. Once an institution verifies a particular postgraduate programme, it is able to declare itself as officially accredited and enjoy all of the benefits that come with such a significant award.

Professional Recognition: Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR)

The Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR) is a voluntary register designed to accredit suitably qualified and experienced registrants, who have the competency to work autonomously as a Sport and Exercise Nutritionist with performance oriented athletes, as well as those participating in physical activity, sport and exercise for health.

Professional Recognition: Association for Nutrition (AfN)

The Association for Nutrition (AfN) is the independent regulator for Registered Nutritionists. The AfN is a Registered Charity, whose role is to protect and benefit the public. They hold the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), a register of competent, qualified nutrition professionals who meet the rigorously applied standards for scientifically sound evidence-based nutrition and its use in practice. The UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists is the only register of qualified nutritionists recognised by Public Health England and the NHS.
